Derby Wrap

So I realize I posted a ton of videos in the Kentucky Derby post the other day… so I decided to combine them into one — enjoy!

DERBY!

Oh, what a day! Kentucky Derby 2012 was a lot of work, but an absolute blast. If you couldn’t make it to the Derby, don’t worry! I’ve got your recap right here.

I had the difficult job of covering the red carpet and interviewing celebrities. Poor, me. :)

Even though I bet on several horses (cough, 10 to be exact) and didn’t win a dime, I also didn’t lose much. “I’ll Have Another” took home the crown!

LEX 18′s award-winning coverage kicked off Friday night with me at the Barnstable Brown party. The star-studded event that features celebrities from Hollywood and beyond in the Bluegrass, all their to party with a purpose: to raise money for Diabetes research. And of course, to pre-game for the big race!

Apparently I even made it on NBC sports coverage – a friend in Oklahoma snapped the above pic of me interviewing Aaron Rodgers! And yes, he’s just as dreamy in person!

A few notables I interviewed: Joey Fatone – who I adore! Check out this clip from our interview…and how I show him an old-school throw back from when I met him in 1999! ha!

I loved meeting E!’s Catt Sadler! What a beautiful person! And, she was SO sweet!

Although Ashton Kutcher gave me the cold shoulder, I got to meet others that made up for it!

Derby Wrap

Barnstable Brown

It’s part of the Kentucky Derby tradition – a star-studded event the night before the Derby in Louisville known as the Barnstable Brown party.

Kentucky Derby Ready!

In preps for my trip to Louisville tomorrow for the 138th Kentucky Derby – I’m looking back at last year’s coverage.

Here are a few pieces from all the fashion of 2011 at Churchill Downs!

Kentucky Derby 138!

Don’t forget to tune into LEX 18′s Award-winning exclusive Kentucky Derby coverage!

I’ll be covering the red carpet at Barnstable Brown Party – and the red carpet and celebrity beat at the Derby!

Here’s a little preview -

Countdown to Derby!

With Keeneland here – spring is in the air…and the Kentucky Derby is less than a month away! LEX18 goes all out for our award-winning Derby coverage. And the plan is here!

I’m on celebrity beat – asking the important question – “what are you wearing?!”

In preparation for Derby – the wonderful ladies at Bella Rose are helping me pick out dresses for the big day! I’ll be covering the Barnstable Browns party the night before, the exclusive party attended by celebrities! For that party – I’m choosing between these two dresses…

And for Derby – these are my options.

But the most important part of the Derby – is of course, the hat. The shops at Keeneland are topping off my outfit with a fabulous piece from Christine Moore Millinery! This is a sample of the one I’ll be wearing…

I cannot wait to cover my second Derby..#138! It’s going to be a blast! If you have never been, add it to your Bucket List. It’s a must-see! And if you are going, be sure to stop by Bella Rose Style on Rose Street to get the perfect dress for the big day!

New Derby Logo!

Kentucky Derby 137 of 2010 was my first experience at the Derby… And I absolutely LOVED it! So when I got an email with the new Derby logo, I had to share it!

LEX 18 is already planning our Derby coverage for 138…getting excited!

Here’s some Derby footage from last year!

Art You Can Wear!

My friend and coworker, Nicole Pence, snagged these hand-painted shoes from a designer/artist in Florida. The designer, Rasta, even came to the Derby to talk to LEX 18 about his artwork! And Rasta says he’s going to create a pair for me for next year! Check it out…
