A dear friend of mine solicited my help to get one of his friends some online votes. I’m sure everyone in this contest is deserving, but reading the email from my friend about his friend convinced me.
The contest is in Food & Wine Magazine for “The People’s Best New Chef of 2011.” Tandy Wilson has been running a restaurant in Nashville called “City House.” The floods of last year nearly forced him to close his doors, but he didn’t. And his business is still hanging on.
And when the floods hit, he not only managed to run his business, he helped his city through the devastation.
City House – Nashville, TN
Volunteer work: Wilson coordinated the feeding of victims of Nashville’s flood last year and worked with local chefs to raise funds with charity dinners.
Winning this award could really help with that battle.
So cast your vote, it’s easy and you don’t have to sign up for emails 🙂
Food and Wine Magazine recently named my cousin, Tandy Wilson, one of the 10 best new chefs in the Southeast. But we need your help in the national portion of the competition. Tandy is an unbelievable chef and even better person. He nearly lost his restaurant, City House, during the Nashville flood of 2010. However, even in the most difficult of times, his focus remained on helping those less fortunate than himself. With water steadily rising, he arrived at the restaurant long before dawn and quickly went to work organizing and cooking hundreds of meals for people in various shelters around the city. Tandy is one of the most humble and genuine people I have ever known. Although he is not one who desires praise or recognition, we are extremely proud of him and his many accomplishments. If you have a few minutes, please visit the link below, between now and March 1, to cast your vote for Tandy Wilson as Food and Wine’s “The People’s Best New Chef 2011.” On behalf of my entire family, I thank you for your time and attention.
