The Fayette County Coroner late Wednesday afternoon released the identity of a woman whose body was found on the grounds of Lexington’s famed Calumet Farm Wednesday morning.

Police say a “death investigation” was underway after the body of the woman, identified by the Fayette County Coroner as Linda Witman, 48, of Lexington, was discovered by a landscaping crew sometime around 9:30 a.m. at the farm, located along Versailles Road near Blue Grass Airport.

The coroner said Witman was pronounced dead at just after 10 a.m.
