It’s something I started about 3 years ago when I first started anchoring in Hagerstown, Maryland. Live-tweeting throughout the newscast in-between reading stories, during commercials and during weather. I came up with the term – twanchoring. Twittering + anchoring = Twanchoring.
People often ask if it is really me tweeting during the show – or if I have someone doing it for me. Nope, it’s all me! The tweets are usually short, consisting of what’s coming up next, the weather, what our big story is, an extra tid-bit about the piece that’s airing, etc. Nonetheless, I’ve found it’s a great way to connect with viewers and meet new tweeps!
So on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 to 6:30 and 11:00 to 11:30 – join me on Twitter and on t.v.!
