As a reporter, I’m always on the go. To the far ends of Eastern Kentucky to the southern border with Tennessee. (I’ve actually gone into West Virginia and to Tennessee for stories for LEX 18.) And sometimes, it’s not unusual for me to be on the road for 6 hours a day. Which means I’m all too often faced with McDonald’s as a lunch option…Not good.
So when Lexington opened The Weekly Juicery, I was pretty thrilled. I could get all my veggies and vitamins in one drink while on the go!
You can pick up juices at their store on Vine Street, or you can sign up for the delivery service, like I do. When I come home Sunday nights there’s a cooler with three juices waiting for me on my doorstep.
All the ingredients are listed on the bottle, and there’s no preservatives, additives or anything you can’t pronounce…They have flavors like “Green Lemonade,” beet juice, watermelon juice, carrot, etc. My favorite is the Green Lemonade which has kale, romaine, lemon, ginger and a little Stevia. It’s delicious!
If you can get past the color, you’ll really enjoy it. I promise. They also have wheatgrass shots and other specialty smoothies.
