These are a few of my favorite things…this week, at least.
–The One & Only: I admit, I’m a chic-lit lover. (don’t judge) – and one of my favorite authors, Emily Giffin, has a new book out! Ladies, if you’re like me — and in need of a good summer read, EG is my go-to. I’m excited to dig into her newest book, The One & Only, at the beach this summer. You may remember her other hits – Something Borrowed (which was also made into a movie), Where We Belong and Baby Proof. Nice write-up on the book in the NY Daily News here.
–FabFitFun VIP box: I have long been a fan of BirchBox, but decided to take a break from that subscription service to try a different one: FabFitFun. This box is more upscale than BirchBox, and costs more, too ($50)…But it was worth it. I got my Spring box last month, and I’m in love. The Kai perfume is probably my favorite – it’s now my new signature scent! I loved the Cover FX protection primer to go under my makeup, fitness ball, Dermasuri’s Deep Exfoliating Mitt buff, and the Oscar Blandi dry shampoo is perfect for my hair! Here’s a list of the contents from the previous box, just to give you an idea. I’m definitely in for the Summer box! Sign up HERE.
-This app: Charity Miles! Getting in shape for the summer? Training for a marathon? Download this app asap. Of course running does a body good, but running while using the Charity Miles app also does good for a charity of your choice! Just download the free app, turn it on while you’re running, pick the charity of your choice, and the GPS tracks the distance. When you’re done, ta-dah! You’ve helped vaccinate puppies and kitties through ASPCA, raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity, helped out Autism Speaks, or several other organizations. Bikers earn 10¢ a mile and walkers and runners earn 25¢ a mile, up to the initial $1,000,000 sponsorship pool. More info on their Facebook page. And be sure to download it in the App store!
–Another subscription service I can’t WAIT to get! Nicely Noted. You’ve seen the “Tie of the Month Club,” the beer club, hot sauce of the month club, the list really is endless. Now something for the stationery-lovers like myself: Nicely Noted. At $20/month, you get adorable letterpress cards sent straight to your door…and they even include stamps. I love writing hand-written notes, and most people love getting them. If you’re like me – this is perfect for you. Sign up here.
That’s it for now… have a great weekend! TGIF y’all.
–This newsletter: PopSugar. I recently purged my inbox and unsubscribed to a ton of newsletters. Let’s be honest, they all seem great the first month or so, then your inbox explodes, and the content is lackluster. Before long, I’m deleting each email before reading it. Exception: PopSugar Fitness. This one actually has some good stuff…printable bikini work out, an easy addition to your morning routine to blast fat, everything you need to know about planking, and a delicious smoothie recipe you just have to try. I will *not* be unsubscribing to this list anytime soon.
