Pope Francis, Day 2

What an incredible time to be in Washington! It was all hands on deck for every media outlet in DC all last week, as we previewed the Pope’s visit and of course everything that happened during his trip.

Today, I was at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, where the Pope delivered the Canonization Mass for Junipero Serra. More than 25,000 people were there to witness the historic event. Leading up to the mass, people filed into the Basilica grounds about 8 hours before. I got to talk to a few of them about what today means to them.
