OK maybe not GOOD for you like vitamin good but it’s not BAD for you like Ben & Jerry’s. I’ve been known to down a pint of Half Baked with ease, but as I get older, my body just doesn’t burn off those calories like it used to. Not fair.
I am not willing to give up ice cream altogether, though. Thankfully, I’ve found a couple of alternatives that are way healthier – but don’t taste like it!
First up, Halo top.If you haven’t gotten in on the gold-topped-pint-goodness let me be straight with you: The vanilla bean is the cat’s pajamas and the peanut butter is the cat’s meow. Basically this stuff is awesome. 200-300 calories for a whole pint. Yes, a WHOLE PINT.
Next, there’s Enlightened. The cookie dough is my jam, but so is butter pecan. And with only 400 calories in the entire pint, you can indulge and not ruin your life.
Finally – the king of all ice creams is making a run at the healthy option: Breyers Delights. Although I have NOT tried this option, that mint chocolate chip Breyers is probably my favorite ice cream of all time, so I’m definitely adding Delights to my list. We’ll see how their high-protein version of the mint chocolate chip compares. Calorie-wise, a pint is only 310 calories.
Just have to get through these pints of Halo and Enlighted, first…which will take about 20 min. BR.
